Gina Goico

Gina Goico’s sculpture series Loving SUITS elicits an image of a body depleted but one that battles on for the sake of love. And so it does, adding warmth and comfort as their weighted forms with hands at each end embrace you. An object mediator between loved ones, and inspired by the experience of Dominican women of the diaspora, Goico’s sculptures seek to support dialogue between mothers and daughters— sharing histories of migration, family dynamics, and self-love. -David Rios Ferreira
